Optometric Practice Receptionist

Holec and Young Eye Care is seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Receptionist to join our Rapid City, SD team. As a five-doctor optometric practice, we are committed to providing exceptional eye care and creating a welcoming experience for every patient who visits our office.

Our front office team plays an important role in supporting daily operations, assisting patients, and helping ensure each visit runs smoothly from check-in through check-out. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing great service, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Compensation:

Starting pay is $18/hour and may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome patients and visitors while providing friendly, professional service
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
  • Schedule new and returning patient appointments
  • Confirm appointments and help manage scheduling needs
  • Check patients in and out while maintaining accurate patient information
  • Update patient records and protect confidential information
  • Verify insurance information and assist with patient account updates
  • Collect patient payments, balances, and co-pays as needed
  • Assist with referrals and coordination of patient information
  • Prepare, scan, fax, and organize medical records and office documents
  • Complete data entry and other administrative support tasks
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming reception area
  • Communicate with the optometric team to support efficient patient flow

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with patients in a fast-paced office setting. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are important. Previous experience in reception, customer service, healthcare, or an optical setting is helpful but not required.

Schedule:

  • Office hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Saturday mornings, 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Typical schedule: approximately 8:00 AM – 5:45 PM four days per week (day off determined with the team) and every other Saturday from 7:00 AM – 12:15 PM

 

Compensation

18.00 per hour
